Students will travel to Growing to Give Farm in Brunswick to participate in hands-on farm work that directly supports local food access in our community. At the farm, students engage in seasonal tasks such as planting, weeding, cultivating, and harvesting crops that are donated to local food pantries and hunger relief organizations.

This program connects students to the full cycle of food systems — from soil to harvest to community distribution — while building responsibility, teamwork, and care for the land and animals at the farm. Work is structured, meaningful, and adapted for a range of ages.

Through time outdoors and shared physical work, students develop practical skills, an understanding of local food justice, and a sense of connection to the broader community they are helping to support.

The program partners with Growing to Give, a Brunswick-based organization dedicated to growing fresh produce for food-insecure communities across Maine.
