Pick-up: Rolling pick-up at Brightfield between 4:20pm and 4:30pm

This is an afterschool program where outdoor adventure meets artmaking! Each week, students will explore the natural world through hikes, games, observation, sketching, painting, nature printing, sculpture, fairy house building and hands-on creative projects.

Some days might take us on a short hike to a beautiful spot for watercolor or sketching. Other days might involve birding and bird sketching, collecting natural textures for printmaking, creating ephemeral art from materials we find outdoors, or settling into a quiet sit spot to notice the world around us before turning our observations into art.

The program intentionally balances active outdoor play with slower, quieter moments of attention and creativity. Students will have opportunities to move their bodies, explore familiar and new places, experiment with different artistic mediums, and develop the skills of careful observation and creative expression.
